Main functions of Management:

1) ensuring the formation of state policy in the sphere of protection of the state border and protection of sovereign rights of Ukraine in its exclusive (maritime) economic zone;

2) participation by order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as the Minister) in directing and coordinating the activities of the Administration of the State Border Guard Service;

3) ensuring regulatory and legal regulation in the sphere of protection of the state border and protection of sovereign rights of Ukraine in its exclusive (maritime) economic zone;

4) implementation of coordination, organizational and methodological support of the interaction of structural units of the apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the Administration of the State Border Guard Service in the process of their participation in the formation of state policy in the areas defined by the Law of Ukraine “On the State Border Service of Ukraine”.
