Main tasks of the Office (Secretariat of the Commissioner):

1) ensuring the formation and implementation of the state policy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the field of compliance with the norms of international humanitarian law throughout the territory of Ukraine in terms of coordinating the search for persons missing under special circumstances, and resolving other related issues in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Legal Status of Persons Missing in Special Circumstances”;

2) ensuring the activities of the Commissioner;

3) ensuring the functioning of the Unified Register of Missing Persons under special circumstances.
