Main functions of the Sector:

1) the implementation of state supervision over the safe conduct of work by police officers seconded to the structural units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, institutions, institutions and enterprises belonging to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (hereinafter referred to as the institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs), by education applicants of higher education institutions with specific training conditions that train police officers;

2) implementation of departmental control over compliance with labor protection legislation in the institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;

3) by order of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, coordination of activities of the units of state labor protection supervision of the Main Directorate of the National Guard of Ukraine and central executive bodies, whose activities are directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine through the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine;

4) the implementation of control over the timeliness and objectivity of the investigation of accidents that occurred with police officers who are graduates of higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police officers sent to the institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as former police officers that occurred during the period of their service in the bodies internal affairs, and, if necessary, the organization of such investigations.

5) implementation of state supervision of compliance with the requirements of legislation on installation, repair, reconstruction, modernization and safe operation of equipment of increased danger, which is operated in the institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
