The main functions of the Patronage Service:

1) advising the Minister and providing scientific and methodological assistance on the exercise of his powers;

2) preparation of materials necessary for the performance of the tasks assigned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs;

3) ensuring the communication of the Minister with officials of other public authorities;

4) organization of meetings and relations with the public, the media and providing the Minister with the necessary analytical and reference and information materials;

5) analysis of the laws of Ukraine, regulations and legal acts relating to the sphere of activity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Minister, making proposals for their coordination with European standards;

6) development of proposals on priority areas of activity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in relation to the formation and implementation of state policy in the areas defined by the current legislation;

7) providing, on behalf of the Minister, certain professional advice and explanations on the activities of the Minister;

8) execution of other orders of the Minister.
