Main functions of the Department:

1) organization and selection of personnel of the apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the head of the GSC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, his first deputy and deputies, heads of institutions, institutions and enterprises of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, documentation of admission to civil service, its passage and termination, conclusion and termination of contracts for the passage of civil service, as well as preparation of materials on the appointment to positions in the apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Central Committee of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the dismissal of persons whose appointment and dismissal are carried out by the President of Ukraine or the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine or agreed with the Cabinet Ministers of Ukraine;

2) implementation of organizational and staffing measures on the optimal distribution and effective use of the available headcount for the performance of tasks and functions assigned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, improvement of the structure and staff of the apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, GSC, institutions, institutions and enterprises of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;

3) consideration of proposals and preparation of materials for awarding personnel of the apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, GSC, institutions, institutions and enterprises of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, CEV, NGU with state awards, honors of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, departmental incentive awards of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, awarding of higher special and military titles and provision of relevant solemn events; personalization and keeping records of labor activity, including electronic; in cooperation with the Sectoral State Archive of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, implementation of information and reference support of persons on issues service in the Ministry of Internal Affairs;

4) psychological support of the personnel of the apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the GSC, institutions, institutions and enterprises of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on the instructions of the Minister — personnel of the Central Administrative Offices, the National State Administration of Ukraine.
