Main functions of the Department:

1) analyzes the state of international cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, prepares proposals on priority directions of its development and submits them to the management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for consideration, ensures the interaction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine, diplomatic missions of foreign states and representative offices of international organizations in Ukraine, representatives of law enforcement agencies of foreign states officers (communication officers) with them, the relevant authorities of foreign states;

2) organizes and coordinates the structural divisions of the apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, institutions, institutions and enterprises belonging to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, NGU, and on behalf of the Minister — CEV on participation in the activities of international organizations of which Ukraine is a member;

3) organizes events of an international nature with the participation of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the involvement of structural units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, institutions, institutions and enterprises belonging to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, NGU, CEV, provides preparation of information-analytical materials for them, as well as organizes and co-organizes coordinate the implementation of the agreements reached as a result of such measures;

4) develops and participates in the development of draft international treaties of Ukraine on issues falling within the competence of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, draft regulatory and organizational and administrative acts on issues regulating international cooperation, and other documents in this area and develops draft international treaties of Ukraine, drafts of regulations on international cooperation submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and prepares proposals for them;

5) ensures the organization of business trips abroad of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, participates in the organization of official trips abroad of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs apparatus, institutions, institutions and enterprises belonging to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and provides oral translation during international events with the participation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs management;

6) performs the functions of the Secretariat of the Ukrainian part of the Ukrainian-Italian Council for Economic, Industrial and Financial Cooperation and the Joint Ukrainian-French Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation;

7) takes measures to attract international technical assistance, which is provided by foreign states and international organizations for the needs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, NGU, CEV.
