The main tasks of the Department:

1) participation within the competence in the formation and implementation of the state information policy in the spheres of activity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the GSC, institutions, institutions and enterprises belonging to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (hereinafter — institutions, institutions and enterprises of the Ministry of Internal Affairs), and on the instructions of the Minister — in the spheres of activity of the Central Administrative Service of Ukraine;

2) coordination of the interaction of structural divisions of the apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the GSC, institutions, institutions and enterprises of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and on the instructions of the Minister — CEV, NGU with the media and the public;

3) ensuring, in the established procedure, comprehensive and objective information of citizens about the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs through the media and other means of communication;

4) ensuring public relations to promote public participation in the formation and implementation of state policy in the spheres of activity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;

5) monitoring and analysis of information on the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which is published in the media, Internet networks;

6) information and analytical support of the management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the implementation of the information policy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;

7) ensuring measures to counter information and hybrid threats;

8) creation of media product, informational and creative content (text, graphic and multimedia) and presentation materials to ensure strategic communications.
