The main tasks of the Department:

1) participation in the organization and implementation of measures for informatization, ensuring the activities of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and on behalf of the Minister of Central Executive Authorities, the activities of which are directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine through the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (hereinafter — CEV) in the fields of informatization, formation and use of electronic information resources cyber security;

2) organization of formation of information resources of the unified information system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and ensuring control of the processes of their filling and use;

3) organization and provision of operation, development, coordination and functioning of the communication and electronic communications system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, access control and monitoring of efficiency of use of resources of the unified digital departmental electronic communication network of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;

4) ensuring the provision of qualified electronic trust services by a qualified provider of electronic trust services — accredited key certification center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, organization of the use of qualified electronic trust services in the Ministry of Internal Affairs;

5) ensuring the provision of information services to legal entities and individuals;

6) ensuring the implementation of the strategy and policy of information protection in information and communication systems and cybersecurity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and on the instructions of the Minister of the CEV;

7) organization of the procedure for affixing the apostille on documents issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its territorial bodies for the provision of service services, except for documents related to the field of education and science;

8) control and monitoring of the radio frequency spectrum assigned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
