Appeal of the Collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster
Dear colleagues, dear veterans of Chernobyl!
April 26 marks the 35th anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. This event is recognized as a tragedy on a planetary scale.
Hundreds of thousands of people, including 33,000 employees of the internal affairs bodies and servicemen of the internal forces, were quickly included in the fight against the consequences of the disaster.
But, first of all, firefighter heroes stopped the spread of the disaster, prevented it from turning into an extermination tornado for Ukraine and European countries.
Serving in extreme conditions for the personnel of the internal affairs bodies was a test of courage, professionalism and moral maturity. They honourably fulfilled their professional and civic duty.
On this day, we bow our heads low to the memory of the dead heroes and pay tribute to all the liquidators of the accident who, saving their compatriots, as well as the peoples of other countries from the nuclear danger, sacrificed the most precious thing - their health and life.
Collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, all of us will always work to perpetuate the immortal feat of the disaster liquidators, to honor the memory of the dead and dead, to strengthen them and family members of social protection, to continue the tradition of respectful treatment of the veterans of Chernobyl.
With all our hearts, we wish the heroes-liquidators and members of their families health, happiness and well-being, confidence in their personal safety, peace and stability!
