The driver who hit two children at a pedestrian crossing in Kharkiv was detained — Denis Monastyrsky
This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky.
“The person who shot down two children today at a pedestrian crossing in Kharkiv has been detained by the police and is now undergoing a drug test. The police suspect that the offender was under the influence of psychotropic or narcotic substances,” the minister said.
According to the minister, this driver was previously prosecuted under Art. 309 of the Criminal Code - illegal production or storage of drugs.
“But for some reason a year ago the case was closed and did not reach court. Together with the prosecutor's office, we will understand the details of how it happened,” Denis Monastyrsky stressed.
As the minister also reported, “the children, fortunately, remained alive and hospitalized.”
