Wages of law enforcement officers can be increased due to de-tinization of the economy
This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky today, December 1, during the morning meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
“The wages of border guards, rescuers, National Guard soldiers and policemen are really deplorable. Today, parking attendants and pizza deliverers receive more than the National Guardsmen who provide public safety and serve in the PLO, and the border guards who protect our borders. We can raise salaries for 350 thousand employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and start building the state border by detonizing the economy,” said Denis Monastyrsky.
According to him, detinization is possible in the direction of increasing the collection of excise taxes on liquor products.
“I emphasize that we are not talking about increasing excise rates, but about detonizing the economy. According to the results of the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs last month, excise receipts increased by about 1 billion UAH compared to the previous month. It is quite realistic to increase these funds by 10 billion next year and allocate them for monetary support of the departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This will gradually increase salaries by 20%. I take political responsibility for the implementation of this proposal and ask for the support of colleagues,” he said.
