Assassination, fraud and robbery: Kiev investigators informed the dentist about the suspicion of committing a number of crimes — Andriy Kryshchenko
The doctor provided false information to clients about the amount of necessary medical services and thus appropriated almost 350 thousand hryvnias. In addition, law enforcement officers reasonably suspect the defendant in several more crimes - attempted murder, robbery, theft of money from a bank card. Currently, the man is in custody, he faces up to fifteen years in prison or life imprisonment.
A woman contacted the Golosiivskyi Police Department and reported that the dentist fraudulently took her money. Police documented the crime and launched a pre-trial investigation.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers established that in 2019 the man was engaged in medical activities in a dental clinic. The offender sought out people who needed treatment and provided them with false information about the amount of medical services in order to seize their money. Thus, the defendant found three clients and seized 345 thousand hryvnias.
According to the chief of police of Kyiv Andriy Kryshchenko, in 2020 investigators proved the man's involvement in several more crimes — robbery, theft of money from a bank card and attempted murder of two women:
“We found out that the offender assigned the client an appointment in a dental clinic. During the procedure, he left the woman in the office, and he himself stole a bank card from her purse and, having gained access to the account, seized 78 thousand hryvnias. After some time, the doctor invited the patient to coffee, into which he then imperceptibly poured a potent substance. Then, unconscious, he brought her home and stole a laptop and cell phone from the apartment. With the help of the gadget, he gained access to another account of the victim, from which he withdrew 46,900 hryvnias. After the crime, the defendant escaped, and the victim was later hospitalized in the hospital.”
After recovering, the woman contacted the police and reported that she had been the victim of a dentist who seized her money and tried to kill her. To settle the situation, the victim and her daughter invited her husband to meet. He agreed and assured that he would return the stolen money, and after a while he came home to the client.
“In order to avoid criminal responsibility for the crime, the man decided to kill the woman, disguising the crime as an accident. To do this, he broke the lock on the electrical switchboard on the floor, from where he brought a wire from the meter and connected it to a metal grille that delimits the common corridor. When the owner left the apartment and grabbed her hand on the grate, she received an electric shock,” said the head of the capital's head.
In addition, the police found out that two weeks before the attempted murder of a former client, the defendant tried to take the life of his ex-wife's mother, because there was a long-standing conflict between them. To this end, he damaged the brake system and the gas hose for refueling in the victim's car. However, the woman managed to stop the car in time with the handbrake and avoided a collision.
“We conducted several searches, including in the attacker's car, in which three packages of amphetamine were found and seized. At the same time, legal proceedings are ongoing against the defendant regarding the commission of apartment thefts and robbery. In addition, during the court hearing on the request to extend the term of the preventive measure of detention, the suspect made a verbal threat to the representative of the prosecutor's office of the city of Kiev about committing violent acts against her,” Andriy Kryshchenko noted.
Investigators of the Kiev police informed the man about the suspicion of committing crimes stipulated in Part 2 of Art. 15, Part 1, Clause 13 Part 2 of Art. 115 (Attempted premeditated murder), Part 3 of Art. 187 (Robbery), part 2 of Art. 185 (Theft), part 2 of Art. 190 (Fraud), Part 1 of Art. 345 (Threat or violence against a law enforcement officer), Part 1 of Art. 309 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation or shipment of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues without the purpose of sale) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The defendant faces up to fifteen years or life imprisonment.
