Additional forces of the National Guard are involved to strengthen border protection in the directions of potential movement of illegal migrants from Belarus. The guards will perform tasks together with units of the State Border Service and the National Police.
- At present, clear interaction between all departments has been established and probable directions have been calculated on which attention should be increased. To monitor the terrain and the situation, units of the National Guard will use UAVs. Also, for the rapid movement of personnel, operational response and observation, their own aviation will be used, - said the commander of the NGU, Colonel General Mykola Balan.
As previously reported by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky, about 8.5 thousand soldiers of the National Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine and police officers will be additionally involved to perform these tasks.
Additional forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine are deployed on the border in accordance with the decision of the National Security Council to strengthen border protection in the directions of potential movement of illegal migrants from Belarus. The Ukrainian-Belarusian border is being reinforced to contain the flow of migrants if necessary and prevent possible provocations.
