For causing grievous bodily harm to the police guard, law enforcement officers detained an earlier convicted resident of Nikolaev
The incident happened on October 16 at about 22:15 in the area of intersection of pr. Tsentralnyi and ul. Highway. A verbal conflict arose between the victim, who was walking with a comrade, and two male passersby, which escalated into a fight. During the fight, a 32-year-old officer of the Security Police Department (he was out of service) received knife wounds to the back and abdomen, as well as a gunshot wound, preliminary, traumatic action.
In serious condition, the victim is hospitalized.
The police located and detained the 40-year-old intruder the day after the crime was committed. The man had previously been prosecuted for property crimes and hooliganism. His investigators detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine. At the moment, the issue of notifying the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 15 Part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Attempted premeditated murder”, which provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 15 years.
