The detainee installed a Kalashnikov automatic machine in the luggage compartment of the Opel car and adapted it to carry out remote shots. The attack was prepared on the victim, who had debt obligations with the suspect.
Recall: On December 8, a message was received on the line “102" that shots were heard near one of the houses on Dmitry Yavornytsky Avenue, after which the Opel Astra car caught fire. Police officers immediately went to the scene. After extinguishing, the police found in the trunk an AK-74 automatic machine gun, cartridges, shot sleeves, burnt wires with a fragment of a mobile phone, fragments of an electronic mechanism, car numbers and other physical evidence. The removed items were sent for examination.
To solve the crime, the investigators of the regional police, together with the operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department of the GUNP and the Criminal Investigation Department under the procedural guidance of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, conducted large-scale investigative and investigative work. Dozens of witnesses were interviewed, video from surveillance cameras were processed and investigative measures were carried out.
As a result, law enforcement officers detained a 45-year-old man who was preparing the murder of a local resident. The detainee installed a Kalashnikov automatic machine in the luggage compartment of the Opel car and adapted it to carry out remote shots.
It was a complex mechanism, which consisted of a device for firing a firearm, on which a Kalashnikov assault rifle was fixed, and a self-destruct mechanism. With the help of a laser pointer, a target for shots was set. On the day of the crime, the suspect made a telephone call to an electronic device, which triggered the specified mechanism.
On December 10, police searched the place of residence of the 45-year-old defendant. The man was found with a pistol, almost 100 rounds of 5.45 mm caliber, mobile phones, radio means of communication, homemade devices with wires and other material evidence.
Currently, the detainee has been handed a report of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 14, Part 1 of Art. 115 (preparation to commit premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to make bail has been chosen.
