An official of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences is suspected of committing a corruption crime.
On April 28, the Kyiv Court of Appeal, at the request of the Investigative Department for the Investigation of Corruption Crimes of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police and the Procedural Management of the Office of the Prosecutor General, decided to suspend the head of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences from the post.
Recall that the investigators of the National Police filed a petition to the court to elect the director of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine a precautionary measure in the form of detention and his removal from office.
The head of the NAAS of Ukraine is suspected of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. In particular, the director contributed to the appointment of the head of one of the state-owned enterprises that are part of the NAAS of Ukraine. In turn, the newly appointed head should not prevent the conclusion of joint activity agreements between the state-owned enterprise and specifically defined economic entities.
For accepting an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official, a suspect is threatened with imprisonment for a period of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years, with confiscation of property.
