On the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Ukraine, a full-fledged register of weapons should work - Denis Monastyrsky
This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky today, October 26, during a coordination meeting in the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to the Minister, for law enforcement officers and citizens, it is the legislative settlement that is the starting point for how the legal circulation of weapons should function.
“On the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a full-fledged register of weapons should be in operation in Ukraine by the end of this year - the beginning of the next one. The problem of large unregulated circulation of traumatic weapons, the processing of such weapons is becoming even greater. We work not only on prevention, but also to ensure that traumatic weapons are manufactured in such a way that it is impossible to convert them into firearms. In this direction, we cooperate with weapons manufacturers,” Denis Monastyrsky said.
The Minister of the Interior stressed that today the sale of drugs through the Internet is becoming very widespread: “Every fifth fact of selling drugs is recorded through the Internet.
Cyberpolice officers are connected to this problem. In the coming years, this direction of sales will be the main one and therefore the fight against it is a priority.”
The Minister also noted that this problem needs to be strengthened coordination, so NPU investigators should accompany such proceedings together with the prosecutor's office.
Denis Monastyrsky recalled that according to the materials of the report on human trafficking of the US State Department, since 2017, Ukraine has left the group of countries where prosperity has been growing is trafficking in human beings and is in the so-called second group.
“We must go to the definition of a single responsible body for human trafficking in Ukraine. The issue of surrogate motherhood is problematic. The phenomenon of human trafficking in this category is of particular importance in Ukraine,” he said.
Denis Monastyrsky noted that the topics of illegal trafficking of arms and ammunition, drugs and human trafficking are transnational in nature, so it is important to establish cooperation between international institutions dealing with this issue.
