On the fact of leakage of ammonia from a tank wagon in Nemirov, the police initiated criminal proceedings
On November 29, on the territory of the chemical warehouses of one of the Nemirov enterprises on the railway track, the valve of the tank wagon with ammonia was depressurized. About 9.20 p.m. the dispatcher of the State Emergency Service informed the police.
The units of the State Emergency Service conducted the deposition of ammonia clouds with sprayed jets of water. Police officers restricted traffic and access to the dangerous area and, along with rescuers, evacuated people from the premises of the business and houses located nearby.
On the fact of atmospheric air pollution, the investigative unit initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 241 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which establishes the causes of leakage of chemical hazardous gas. For such an offense, there is a restriction of freedom for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for the same period.
The situation is controlled, there are no casualties.
