In two months, the police of Kherson region seized excisable goods in the amount of more than 5 million hryvnias from illegal circulation
At the end of October, employees of the police units of the Kherson region sent measures to counter the illegal sale of tobacco products and strong spirits. During this period, the police seized more than 100 thousand packs of cigarettes and more than 10 thousand liters of alcohol from illegal circulation.
According to the head of the department of preventive activities of the Kherson police Vyacheslav Shinkarev, in two months, law enforcement officers detected almost 300 offenses related to the circulation of excisable goods. In relation to 238 citizens, the police drew up administrative protocols under Article 156 of the Code of Civil Procedure “Violation of the rules of trade in beer, alcohol, low-alcohol beverages, tobacco products, electronic cigarettes and liquids used in electronic cigarettes, devices for consuming tobacco products without burning them”. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of a fine in the amount of 3400 to 13600 hryvnias.
Another 36 offenders will be responsible for violation of the procedure for conducting business activities, for which there is a minimum fine in the amount of 17 thousand hryvnias.
In total, over the past two months, police officers of the Kherson region seized 102 thousand 147 packs of cigarettes worth almost 3.2 million hryvnias and more than 10 thousand 100 liters of strong alcoholic beverages, estimated at the amount of almost 2.1 million hryvnias.
