Since the beginning of this year, the police have opened 350 criminal proceedings for falsifying the results of PCR tests, COVID-19 vaccination certificates, international vaccination certificates and COVID certificates. At the same time, 70% of registered crimes have already been reported to persons of suspicion. The Head of the National Police of Ukraine Igor Klymenko wrote about this in his column for Interfax-Ukraine.
He noted that 21% of all proceedings in this category were initiated on the materials of employees of the Security Service of Ukraine, and 19% - according to the data of the Border Service of Ukraine.
Most often, such crimes are qualified under Art. 358 of the Criminal Code - “Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, the sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps”. Punishment for production or sale - from a fine, which can reach 17 thousand hryvnias, and up to 5 years in prison. For those who use fake certificates or certificates, there is a penalty from a fine of up to 850 hryvnias and up to a restriction of liberty for a period of up to 2 years.
Precisely according to Art. 358 Criminal Procedure Code registered 320 out of all 350 already existing criminal proceedings.
