Since the beginning of the year, fire engineers of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed more than 17 thousand explosive objects
Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. In the past day alone, April 26, 58 sorties were made, during which 2,359 munitions were found, including 3 aerial bombs.
Thus, sappers of the group of pyrotechnic works of the special purpose emergency rescue unit of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Situation Service in Odessa region in a specially designated place by controlled explosion destroyed the arsenal of ammunition that was raised the day before in Tatarbunar district, outside the village. Lebedivka — 1169 artillery pieces, 669 units of 7.62 mm rounds, as well as in Biliaiv district, outside the village. Troitske — 10 artillery pieces of the DSV era: 4 units of 152 mm and 6 units of 76 mm.
On April 26, workers of the pyrotechnic works group of the Special Purpose Emergency Rescue Squad of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Ivano-Frankivsk region destroyed 8 explosive objects: in the village of Gorokholino - one F-1 hand grenade and one 76 mm artillery shell from the Second World War, found in the open area of the homestead, and in the village of Khotymir - one 75 mm artillery shell, one 45 mm artillery shell, three 81 mm mortar mines and one World War II red “Gewehrsprenggranate” grenade found in the forest terrain.
In Lviv region this week, the pyrotechnic group of the 2nd Special Rapid Response Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine seized and destroyed by the established order 76 mm artillery shell from the Second World War, which was discovered in the village. Berezhnitsa of the Sambir district during earthworks on the homestead plot, as well as an 82 mm mortar mine, which was discovered near the village. In addition, work is underway on the demining of liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Thus, during April 26, the units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the territory of Donetsk region, where the PLO is conducted, seized 54 VNPs, surveyed 1.29 hectares of territory and 0.16 hectares of water area.
At the same time, at the end of March, the pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine began the next phase of demining within the framework of the cooperation of the SNS with the representative office of “The HALO Trust” in Ukraine on the site Gnutove 1 with a total area of 12 hectares. Work continues almost every day. However, the situation is complicated by the fact that the site on which the pyrotechnic departments work is located near the demarcation line. Thus, on April 26, from about 8:00 to 08:40 in the morning, as a result of the violation of the regime of silence, there were shelling of the garden society near the village. Gnutove, near Mariupol. The site of the shelling is located in the immediate vicinity of the field on which the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service are working as part of the Joint Project between the SNS and the Representation of the international humanitarian organization “The HALO Trust” in Ukraine”. At the time of the shelling, there were 23 representatives of the State Emergency Service and 5 units of equipment. Rescuers were forced to stop work immediately and leave the dangerous area. Currently, work is suspended, personnel of the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service have been evacuated from the scene.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the SNS have seized and destroyed 17 thousand 549 explosive objects, including 68 aircraft bombs.
Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens with a request to observe the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!
It is strictly prohibited:
touch a suspicious object or move it;
fill it with liquids, cover it with soil or cover it with something;
to exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because almost all explosives are sensitive to mechanical, sound effects and heating;
try to neutralize the find yourself.
Remember that in case of detection of explosive objects, it is necessary to immediately report this at the number “101” or “102” and in no case try to independently identify the found ammunition.
