Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. Only during the last day, April 5, 96 trips were made, during which 3,43 munitions were found.

In particular, specialists of the pyrotechnic works group of the emergency and rescue unit of the Special Purpose G of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region were twice involved in the work on the disposal of obsolete ammunition. So, during a walk, in an open area outside the village of Vilne Kryvyi Rih district, a man found an outdated 82 mm mortar mine. During the earthworks in the field near the village of Trituzne, Solonyansky district, they also discovered an outdated 82 mm mortar mine. In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, during the last day, fire engines of the State Emergency Service destroyed 2 explosive objects, namely: 75 mm artillery shells from the Second World War. One of them was found in an open area in the village of Svitanok, Ivano-Frankivsk district, the other - in a forest near the village of Oleshiv, Ivano-Frankivsk district.

Pyrotechnics 2 of the Special Rapid Response Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (m. Drohobych) continue work on the removal and destruction of explosive objects on the territory of Lviv region. Thus, during the weekend and on Monday, 10 units of explosive objects were seized and destroyed, namely: a 75 mm artillery shell and a artillery shell 105 mm series, and 81 mm mortar mine in Ponikovytsya village, Zolochiv district; artillery 100 mm shell in Sokol village of Zolochiv district; and 76 mm artillery shell in Romaniv village of Peremyshlyansk district; 2 units of a 105-mm artillery shell in Varyazh village of Chervonograd district. 2 pieces of artillery 122-mm artillery shells and 152-mm artillery shells were seized in the city. In addition, work is underway on the demining of liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Thus, during April 5, units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the territory of Donetsk region, where the PLO is conducted, examined 2.28 hectares of territory and identified and seized 114 VNPs.

In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed 11 thousand 430 explosive objects, including 19 aerial bombs.

Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens to observe the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!

It is strictly forbidden:

  • touch a suspicious object or move it;

  • fill it with liquids, cover it with soil or cover it with something;

  • to exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because almost all explosives are sensitive to mechanical, sound effects and heating;

  • try to neutralize the find yourself.

Remember that in case of detection of explosive objects, it is necessary to immediately report this at the number “101” or “102” and in no case try to independently identify the found ammunition.
