Since the beginning of the year, fire engineers of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed almost 20 thousand explosive objects
Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. Now, when the economic work season continues in Ukraine, the number of detected GNP has increased significantly. Citizens continue to find obsolete ammunition in their own yards and in the open.
Thus, on May 10, the pyrotechnic works group of the emergency and rescue unit of the special purpose of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Nikolaev area destroyed 2 explosive objects of the Second World War. On the eve, May 9, while fishing on the shore of the river. Ingul, a citizen found an object that looked like an explosive. He reported the find at number 101. Rescuers who arrived at the scene classified the find as a 45 mm artillery shell. During an additional survey of the area, another similar shell was found.
In Lviv region on May 9, the Rescue Service received a message that in the village. In Kosteniv Lviv district on the territory of a private farm, at a distance of 20 m from residential buildings and 100 m from the road, an artillery shot from the Second World War was found. Specialists of the 2nd Special Rapid Response Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine were involved to extract and destroy the dangerous find.
In the Kherson region on May 10, on the territory of the country cooperative “Topoliok” in the village. Sadove Belozersky district, an F-1 grenade from the Second World War was discovered. Citizens came across a dangerous find during the dismantling of an economic structure.
Last week in Kharkiv region, the pyrotechnic group of the Interregional Center for Humanitarian and Rapid Response of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine destroyed 169 World War II munitions, 163 of which were discovered by a local resident of the village of Mironovka Bilyayevska AHG in his own garden. First, he came across a metal box with 50mm mortar mines. Seeing this, the man immediately stopped all work and called rescuers. Pyrotechnics who arrived at the scene surveyed the surrounding area and found 163 ammunition units there: 10 artillery shells and 153 mortar mines.
Work is also underway on the demining of the liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
In particular, over the past day, the units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the territory of Donetsk region, where the PLO is carried out, detected and seized 30 VNPs, and 1.52 hectares of territory were examined for the presence of GNP.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed 19,954 explosive items, including more than 84 aircraft bombs.
Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens with a request to observe the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!
It is strictly prohibited:
- touch a suspicious object or move it;
- fill it with liquids, cover it with soil or cover it with something;
- to exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because almost all explosive substances are sensitive to mechanical, sound effects and heating;
- try to independently neutralize the find.
Remember that in case of detection of explosive objects, it is necessary to immediately report this at the number “101” or “102” and in no case try to independently identify the found ammunition.
