Since the beginning of the year, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have seized and destroyed more than 41 thousand explosive objects
Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. During the last day alone, July 19, 63 sorties were made, during which 713 munitions were found.
In particular, these days, pyrotechnics of the Special Emergency Rescue Squad of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Khmelnytsky region in a specially designated place destroyed the aviation bomb FAB-250 of the Second World War. The dangerous find was discovered at a former military training ground near the city. Starokostiantyniv. In addition, during a control survey of the terrain, one 152 mm artillery shell from the Second World War was additionally discovered.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region on July 18, namely in Kryvyi Rih district, in an open area 2 km north of the village of Zelenoe Pole, during search work, participants of the public historical and search organization “Memory of Descendants” discovered obsolete 88 mm rocket shells for the German Panzer grenade launcher Schreck” in the amount of 9 units. The department of pyrotechnic works group of the special purpose emergency rescue unit of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of the region destroyed the ammunition by controlled detonation.
On July 16, the Pyrotechnic Works Group of the Interregional Rapid Response Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carried out work on the neutralization of 28 mortar mines (50 mm) and artillery shells (76 mm) from the Second World War. Ammunition had previously been discovered in the woods of. Perekopovka, Romensky district. Dangerous items were taken to a specially designated place and destroyed by detonation.
In addition, work is underway on the demining of liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Thus, on July 19, units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the territory of Donetsk region, where the PLO is conducted, examined 2.4 hectares of territory and 0.1 hectares of water area for the presence of GNP, where 64 munitions were detected and seized.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed 41,387 explosive items, including 297 aircraft bombs.
Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens with a request to observe the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!
It is strictly prohibited:
touch or move a suspicious object;
fill it with liquids, cover it with soil or cover it with something; exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because virtually all explosives
are sensitive to mechanical, sound and heat effects; try to neutralize the find independently.
Remember that in case of detection of explosive objects, it is necessary to immediately report this at the number “101” or “102” and in no case try to independently identify the found ammunition.
