Since the beginning of the year, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have seized and destroyed more than 37 thousand explosive objects
Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. During the last day alone, July 12, 49 sorties were made, during which 862 munitions were found.
So, in Zhytomyr region on July 11, pyrotechnics destroyed three munitions from past wars. All explosive objects were found in Zhytomyr district on the territory of Radomyshl TG. The first call to Rescue Service “101” came from p. Zabalochye. The man came from the capital to build a house. Digging the foundation for the dwelling, he noticed two suspicious metal finds in the ground. The SNSS specialists who arrived at the scene of the call identified the discovered objects as 2 45 mm artillery shells from the time of past wars. Another message captured from p. Rakovichi of the same area. The village chief reported that he was approached by people who saw an unknown metal object in the forest, visible from under the ground. It was a 76-mm artillery shell of the past wars.
Over the weekend, 51 munitions were defused in the Sumy region, and another 32 were found. Thus, on July 9, the pyrotechnic works group of the Interregional Rapid Response Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (m. Romny), work was carried out on the neutralization of forty one 50 mm mortar mine, eight 76 mm, one 45 mm and one 152 - x mm artillery shells. Munitions were previously found in the Romen and Lipovodolinshchyna regions. Dangerous items were taken to a designated place and destroyed by detonation. On the same day, the 101 Emergency Call Line received a report of the detection of twenty-nine 50 — mm mortar mines, two 76 — mm and one 152 — mm artillery shells. The echoes of past wars were found in the forest, at a distance of up to 800 m from the residential buildings of the village. Perekopovka, located in the Romeni region and on the banks of the river Seim in the Putivl region. Security was established at the places of detection of explosive objects and an application for neutralization was submitted to the Interregional Rapid Response Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Sumy Oblast (Sumy Oblast). Romny).
On July 12, at 17:40 the 101 Rescue Service received a message that in p. Pidgirtsi, Zolochiv district, Lviv region, during a walk in the forest (100 m from residential buildings), an object resembling a hand grenade from the Second World War was discovered. Upon detection of ammunition, law enforcement agencies were notified and an application was submitted to the pyrotechnic group of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine for seizure and destruction.
In addition, work is underway on the demining of liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Thus, during July 12, units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the territory of Donetsk region, where the PLO is conducted, surveyed 1.36 hectares of territory and identified and removed 64 VNPs.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed 37,338 explosive items, including 208 aircraft bombs.
Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens with a request to observe the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!
It is strictly prohibited:
touch a suspicious object or move it;
fill it with liquids, cover it with soil or cover it with something; exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because almost all explosives
are sensitive to mechanical, sound and heating effects; try to neutralize the finding independently. Note that in case of detection of explosive objects, it is necessary to immediately report this by number “101” or “102” and in no case try to identify yourself
