Since the beginning of the year, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have seized and destroyed almost 50 thousand explosive objects
Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. During the last day alone, August 2, 55 sorties were made, during which 812 munitions were found.
In particular, on August 2, citizens notified the emergency number 101 that in the open area on the street. A passerby came across three suspicious objects in Vodnaya in the Varvarivka district of the regional center. Pyrotechnics of the special purpose emergency rescue unit of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Nikolaev area came to the challenge, who qualified the find as 125 mm artillery shells of the past wars. By controlled detonation, the VNPs were destroyed in a specially designated place.
On the same day, employees of the pyrotechnic works group of the Special Purpose Emergency Rescue Squad of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankivsk region destroyed 33 explosive objects, namely: thirty-two 50 mm mortar mines from the Second World War, found in the open area near the homestead a site in the urban-type settlement of Bitkiv and one 45 mm artillery shell discovered near the bank of the river Prut in the urban-type settlement of Lanchin.
At the same time, the pyrotechnic works group of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Zhytomyr region destroyed eight explosive objects from the Second World War, which were found on the territory of Radomyshl community in Zhytomyr district. So, on the road near the village. Rakovichi, local residents found an unknown metal object that looked like ammunition and notified rescuers about it. Upon detailed examination by the specialists of the State Emergency Service who arrived at the scene, it was identified as a 152 mm artillery shell. In addition, in the village. In Stav-Sloboda, foresters during their circumnavigation of the territory found several metal objects similar to ammunition. The specialists of the State Emergency Service who arrived at the scene identified them as seven artillery shells of 76 mm caliber.
In addition, work is underway on the demining of liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Thus, over the past day, the units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the territory of Donetsk region, where the PLO was conducted, identified and seized 64 VNPs and examined 1.51 hectares of territory for the presence of GNP.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed 49,961 explosive items, including 501 aerial bombs.
Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens to observe the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!
It is strictly prohibited:
- touch a suspicious object or move it; - fill it with liquids, cover it with soil or cover it with something;
- exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because almost all explosives are sensitive to mechanical, sound and heating effects;
- try to neutralize on their own find.
Remember that in case of detection of explosive objects, it is necessary to immediately report this at the number “101” or “102” and in no case try to independently identify the found ammunition.
