Since the beginning of 2021, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have seized and destroyed more than 18 thousand explosive objects
Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. Now, when the economic work season began in Ukraine, the number of detected GNP has increased significantly. Citizens continue to find obsolete ammunition in their own yards and in open ground.
Thus, on May 1, at 19:20 the Transcarpathian Rescue Service received a message about the detection of a suspicious metal object, which looks like an explosive. A local resident found a suspicious find during a walk in the area of Kishvashut Street, in the city. Berehovo. The man immediately called the rescuers, and they arrived on the spot and on the same day destroyed the ammunition, which turned out to be a 120 mm mortar mine from the Second World War.
In turn, the specialists of the Pyrotechnic Works Group of the Emergency and Rescue Squad of the Special Purpose of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Dnipropetrovsk region were involved in the work on the destruction of obsolete explosive objects in the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region. In particular, near the village of Trudolyubivka, during field work, a man discovered 29 units of obsolete artillery shells of 76 mm caliber and a hand-held M-39 anti-personnel grenade. Another 76 mm artillery shell was discovered by a citizen walking along the banks of the Dnieper River near the village of Lyubimovka. Also near the station “Pavlograd-II”, while resting, another man came across objects similar to obsolete 45 mm artillery shells in the amount of 5 units. Offices of the Pyrotechnic Works Group of the Emergency and Rescue Squad of the Special Purpose Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region found ammunition destroyed by controlled detonation.
In the Nikolaev area on April 29, pyrotechnics destroyed 64 units of GNP from past wars. Work began on April 20 to implement the annual plan of the General Directorate of the State Emergency Service for the demining of the Black Sea water area within the Kinburn Spit. In total, 60 artillery shells and 4 F-1 grenades were recovered from the seabed, an area with a total area of 3.07 hectares was surveyed.
Work is also underway on the demining of the liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed more than 18 thousand explosive objects, including more than 70 aircraft bombs.
Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens with a request to observe the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!
It is strictly prohibited:
touch a suspicious object or move it;
fill it with liquids, cover it with soil or cover it with something; exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because almost all explosives
are sensitive to mechanical, sound and heating effects; try to neutralize the finding independently. Note that in case of detection of explosive objects, it is necessary to immediately report this by number “101” or “102” and in no case try to identify yourself
found ammunition.
