Kharkiv: an explosion occurred in a tank at the enterprise, 1 person was injured, 1 was killed
On April 02 at 04:08 the number “101” received a message about an extraordinary event that happened at a production enterprise located in Kharkiv on ul. Novomoskovskaya, 8a. The company was engaged in processing sunflower seeds into oil.
5 fire and rescue units of the State Emergency Service on tankers were immediately sent to the scene of the fire. At the time of their arrival, it became known that a tank explosion occurred in the metal hangar. As a result of the explosion, this building was destroyed. Burning of debris and remnants of equipment was observed on an area of 600 square meters.
After assessing the situation, 4 more fire tanks and 3 units of special rescue equipment were additionally invited to the scene of the accident.
The body of a deceased worker, born in 1997, was found at the scene of the fire. Another worker, born in 1983, received facial burns and was hospitalized in the Kharkov burn center.
Firefighters located the fire at 05:39. Work is currently underway on the final elimination of local combustion sites. The cause of the occurrence of an extraordinary event is established.
