Bribe for reducing fines — police have exposed the head of the department of state environmental supervision in Ivano-Frankivsk region
He demanded illegal benefits from a citizen in the form of coupons for fuel.
Today, May 18, operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, together with the investigators of the regional police, exposed the official while receiving illegal benefits. From the citizen, the head of the department received coupons for two tons of fuel for a total amount of UAH 56 thousand. For this, he promised to reduce penalties for violations found during an unscheduled inspection at an unfinished construction site.
Priority investigative actions are ongoing. The issue of detention of an official is resolved in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and notification of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Procedural guidance in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
For the solicitation and receipt of improper benefits by an official, punishment is provided in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years, with confiscation of property.
