Mutual recognition and exchange of national driver's licenses: an agreement between Ukraine and the UAE entered into force today
The international agreement was the result of almost three years of coordinated work of specialists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Foreign Ministry and the Embassy of Ukraine in the United Arab Emirates.
From now on, every citizen of Ukraine who moves to the United Arab Emirates will be able to convert his own national driver's license into an Emirati equivalent according to a simplified procedure — without the need to retake theoretical and practical exams. This simplification applies only to categories “A” and “B”.
In addition, thanks to the agreements reached, citizens of Ukraine who are temporarily in the United Arab Emirates can drive a car with a national driver's license without the need for an additional international license.
Similar conditions will apply to UAE citizens residing or residing in Ukraine.
