Save at least 78 lives: border guards donate blood for seriously ill patients
Soldiers and employees of the Separate Command of Protection and Security and 10 mobile border detachments joined the initiative to collect donor blood. To this end, today the border guards conducted cooperation with the “Kyiv City Blood Center”.
A total of 39 people donated 15,600 ml of blood. The largest number of donors with “II” blood group was -17 people, “I” - 14 people, “III” - 6 people, “IV” - 2 people. Donors underwent the blood donation procedure with good health and a sense of good doing.
This measure alone should save at least 78 lives, because one blood donation helps save at least two other lives. Especially in view of the current challenges associated with the pandemic, which threatens the provision of timely transfusion care, namely the transfusion of blood components to victims of traffic accidents, women in labor, pregnant women and patients treated in hematological, burn, trauma and other departments. health institutions of the city of Kiev.
