Suspicion was handed to the police officer of the Dnipropetrovsk region - the culprit of the accident in which two people died
A traffic accident occurred last year on the Kharkiv-Simferopol highway in Zaporizhzhya region. An employee of the Dnipropetrovsk police, driving his own vehicle, drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a car “Daewoo Nubira”. The “Daewoo” took over from the impact, and in it - the driver and the passenger.
Employees of the Zaporizhzhya Department of Internal Security of NPU carry out operational support of criminal proceedings initiated by the SBI under Part 3 of Art. 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of vehicles by persons driving vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
It was established that in September 2020, near the village of Stepnohirsk Vasilyevsky district of Zaporizhzhya region, there was a car accident with the participation of a police officer. In particular, the head of one of the sectors of the Dnieper police department of the GUNP in the Dnipropetrovsk region around 16:00, while driving a Mazda CX-9 car, in which his wife and three minor children were located, without making sure of safety, made an exit to the oncoming lane. Due to the violation of traffic rules, there was a head-on collision with the car “Daewoo Nubira”, in which the gas equipment was damaged from the impact - and the car was engaged.
As a result, the 27-year-old driver and 25-year-old passenger of the Daewoo were burned in the car.
The 39-year-old police officer himself and his family also received bodily injuries in the accident and were taken to a medical facility. During the investigation, it was established that at the time of the traffic accident the policeman was not in a state of alcohol, drug or other intoxication.
During the pre-trial investigation, several forensic and forensic examinations were conducted, eyewitnesses of autotrophy were interviewed. At the moment, NPU internal security operatives and investigators of the TU SBI, located in the city of Melitopol, under the procedural direction of the Zaporizhzhya Regional Prosecutor's Office, have handed over suspicion to a police officer for committing an accident in which two people died.
If proven guilty, the police officer is threatened with imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
