The driver of a people's deputy who insulted a policeman was brought to administrative responsibility
In addition, by the decision of the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv, he was deprived of the right to drive for one year and paid a fine of UAH 10,200. This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky today, December 22.
“I inform you that the driver of the People's Deputy, who today has become known throughout the country not for the better because of the manner of communication with the police officer, has been brought to administrative responsibility under Article 130 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for refusing to undergo interrogation. By the decision of the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv, he was deprived of the right to manage for one year and paid a fine of UAH 10,200,” said Denis Monastyrsky.
According to him, there is still no significant responsibility for the insult of the policeman.
“The Verkhovna Rada is considering draft law No. 5050-1, which proposes to introduce liability for insulting a police officer in the form of a fine from 850 to 1700 hryvnias. I hope that the people's deputies will adopt it and protect the right of police officers to respect in cases where their actions are protected by the Law,” he said.
Denis Monastyrsky added that it would be European, fair and substantive. This is how civilized countries live, to which we aspire to join. The ball is in the lawmakers' field. They should not only pass this law, but also be a model for citizens in their attitude and culture of communication with law enforcement.
