Internal security: in Kharkiv a suspect was handed over to an employee of Ukrtranssecurity for corrupt dealings with driver's licenses
In Kharkiv region, the inspector of Ukrtranssecurity for a monetary “reward” promised those who wish to obtain a driver's license without attending a driving school and passing exams at the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Illegal activities can cost defendants imprisonment for up to eight years.
Employees of the Kharkiv Department of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police established information about the senior state inspector of one of the departments of Ukrtranssecurity. For a certain amount, the employee promised to facilitate the obtaining of driver's licenses without the procedures provided for by law.
The 36-year-old assured his clients that he could negotiate with employees of Territorial Service Centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, heads of licensed driving schools and medical workers. For services in obtaining a driver's license without actually attending a driving school, obtaining a medical certificate and passing exams, a Kharkiv resident asked for almost 10 thousand hryvnias.
Employees of the internal security of the NPU and the investigative department of the Kharkiv police documented the employee on receipt of part of the above-mentioned bribe. Currently, under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office, police investigators have notified the defendant of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 369-2 (Abuse of influence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A petition for the election of a preventive measure has been submitted to the court.
