Exported petroleum products from the military unit for UAH 1.8 million — a group of persons will appear before the court
The group consisted of six people — military and civilian. The defendants organized the export of petroleum products from the military unit stationed in the Kiev region, and sold them at gas stations.
As established by the operatives of the Strategic Investigations Directorate in the Kiev region of the National Police, the group consisted of five people - military and civilian. The attackers removed part of the oil products from the territory, namely diesel fuel and gasoline, and sold it through gas stations of Vasylkivsk and Belotserkovsky districts. During the period of their criminal activity, they managed to remove from the military unit more than 80 tons of fuel, which should have been used to provide military equipment in the area of the Joint Forces. According to the conclusion of the expert study, the amount of damage caused is almost UAH 1.8 million.
On May 15 last year, law enforcement officers detained the organizer of the group and his accomplices and informed them of the suspicions. In the course of the investigation, evidence of the involvement of another member of the group in the commission of the crime was collected. On May 27, 2021, on the basis of the evidence received, the investigators of the SBI Tertiary Department located in the city, were sent to the colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Kyiv, reported on suspicion.
It was also established that one of the attackers, using physical violence against one of his former partners, demanded from him 730 thousand hryvnias - a share in the sale of fuel.
The pre-trial investigation has been completed, the indictment against six persons, in agreement with the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Military and Defense Sphere of the Central Region, has been sent to the court. They incriminate the commission of crimes provided for in Part 3 of Article 28, Part 3 of Article 189 (extortion) and Part 3 of Article 410 (abduction, appropriation by a serviceman of military property, as well as possession of them by fraud or abuse of official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
For a committed group of persons, they can be threatened with up to 12 years in prison.
