Vinnytsia police detained three members of a criminal group who, threatened with a gun, kidnapped a resident of Shargorod
The attackers put a bag over the victim's head, forcibly dragged him into his car and took him outside the city to a sand quarry. Money and personal belongings were taken from him. On October 1, the operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department of the regional police chief together with the police department No. 2 of the Zhmeryn district police department, with the strong support of the soldiers of the special unit KORD, detained three suspects. All of those arrested are previously convicted. They are currently in temporary detention.
The 29-year-old victim contacted the police about 2pm. According to the applicant, when he returned home at night, an Opel Vectra car with a foreign registration, in which there were three men he did not know, stopped near him. Threatened with weapons, they forcibly forced the man to get into a car with them, tied his hands, put a bag on his head, took him out of town, where they beat and took money, phone and other personal belongings.
According to the head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the GUNP in the Vinnytsia region Andriy Damzin, the police detained the suspects in one of the houses in the village of Yukhymivka of the Murafsk territorial community, where they temporarily lived while on earnings. The suspects are Vinnytsia residents aged 20, 23 and 26 years. They were held criminally liable for property crimes.
During the search in their car, the police seized the stolen personal belongings of the victim.
Detainees are notified of suspicion of committing a crime provided for in Part 2 of Art. 187 (robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For such an offense, they face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Also in the actions of the offenders there are signs of a crime provided for in Art. 146 (illegal imprisonment or kidnapping of a person) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The detainees are currently in a temporary detention facility. The court chose a preventive measure for the suspects in the form of detention for a period of 60 days.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
