Extortion of funds from residents of Odessa region - police detained the “sleuth” and his accomplice

The activities of the criminal group led by the so-called “spy” were exposed by the operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Odessa region together with the investigators of the regional police.

On May 21, the police detained both “authorities” while receiving funds from the victim. On the same day, under the procedural guidance of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office, the detainees were informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 189 (extortion) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
May 22, by the decision of the judge of the Kyiv District Court of Kyiv Odessa “spotter” and his accomplice were taken into custody without the right to make bail.
For the committed acts, the defendants may face up to 7 years in prison.
