Operatives of the strategic investigations department in the city stopped the activities of the criminal group of collectors. Kyiv together with the investigators of the Metropolitan Police. It consisted of six people: a lawyer, a division head of an insurance company and local residents.
The perpetrators threatened the use of physical violence against citizens and members of their families, forced them to fulfill their civil legal obligations. Law enforcement officers documented several episodes of their criminal activities. So, the attackers forced the victim to return 127 thousand UAH. At the same time, he was subjected to physical violence and threats of massacre against his family members.
In addition, it was established that the funds received were invested in an underground gambling business. The work of underground institutions was also stopped by the police.
On October 5, police officers with the force support of the special purpose police regiment conducted a number of authorized searches at the addresses of residence and in the cars of the defendants. They seized 6,000 US dollars, 2000 euros, more than 23,000 UAH, weapons, gambling equipment, an object similar to a special means for wiretapping and illegal surveillance, “rough” recordings.
On the basis of the evidence received, the investigators informed six members of the criminal group about suspicions under Part 2 of Art. 355 (forcing to perform or non-fulfillment of civil legal obligations) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to five years.
