Collectors who were engaged in extortion, threatening persons with violence and distribution of fake pornographic photos were exposed — internal security of the National Police
In many cases, extortionists were recommended by representatives of official authorities, including the NACP, and intimidated by the use of “powers”. Employees of the Department of Internal Security and the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine established the defendants and places of their illegal activities.
The Department of Internal Security of the NPU received an appeal against a group of persons acting on behalf of official structures, in particular the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, in order to extort non-existent credit debts from people or to force repayment of existing debt obligations. During the check, the operators of the FIB established those involved in illegal actions, these are employees of collection companies.
In addition, they also received information that attackers resort to threats to borrowers of financial institutions with physical abuse and distribution on social networks of falsified information of pornographic content.
According to the collected materials, the investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police, under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, initiated criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 189 (Extortion), Part 3 of Article 301 (Import, Manufacture, Sale and Distribution of Pornographic Items) and Part 2 of Article 301 .355 (Coercion to perform or fail to fulfill civil legal obligations) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Among the requisitioners are civilians, notaries and private executors. The so-called collection call centers operated in the capital and Kyiv region, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Cherkassy and Kherson.
Having received a court decision, law enforcement officers, with the physical support of special purpose police fighters, conducted more than two dozen searches of the locations of the offices of bank “intermediaries”. Identified and removed office equipment, media, mobile phones and documentation. Material evidence is sent for examination, according to the results of which legal qualification will be given to the actions of the defendants.
