Abduction of citizens for the purpose of taking possession of their housing — members of a criminal group were detained in Kharkiv

It was established that a 44-year-old Kharkiv citizen who was repeatedly convicted organized the activities of the group. He involved two men and two women in accomplices. All of them are residents of Kharkiv and the region between the ages of 24 and 46. Three of them also have criminal experience behind their shoulders for theft, robbery, fraud and theft. The
group “specialized” in kidnapping citizens - unprotected segments of the population - in order to seize their homes. Threats and physical violence forced the victims to re-register real estate for them.
Yesterday, October 5, in Kharkiv, operatives and investigators with the support of the special police regiment detained 4 people in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and released the victim. The man was in the car of the attackers. They forced the man to sign documents on the basis of which they planned to re-register his private house.
According to the results of the investigative actions, law enforcement officers seized the victim's passport, power of attorney and other documents.
During the police special operation, the defendants tried to escape from the law enforcement officers and attacked two operatives, as a result of which the police officers received bodily injuries.
The issue of notifying the detainees and the organizer of suspicions under Part 3 of Art. 189 (extortion) and Part 2 of Art. 146 (deprivation of liberty or kidnapping of a person) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the selection of preventive measures is resolved.
Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Dergachiv District Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv region. For the crimes committed, offenders may face up to 10 years in prison.
