DDUVS teacher Oksana Boturchuk won silver in athletics at the Paralympics in Tokyo
Oksana Boturchuk, a lecturer at the Department of Physical Education of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, won silver in athletics at the Paralympics in Tokyo.
The athlete became a silver medalist in the 400 m race in the T12 class (with impaired vision). She ran this distance in 55.33 seconds.
It should be noted that Oksana Boturchuk is one of the most titled athletes in the history of the Ukrainian Paralympic movement.
The athlete has already won gold and 2 silver medals at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, a silver and bronze medal in London (2012), 2 silver medals in Rio (2016).
In addition, the film “Pulse” was recently released — the first Ukrainian sports drama based on the real story of the five-time silver and bronze medalist of the Summer Paralympic Games.
The motivational film tells about the difficult and sometimes tragic path that the athlete went through on the way to her dream: to become an Olympic champion. Thus, as a result of a car accident, Oksana Boturchuk suffered serious injuries and for some time almost completely lost her sight. Nevertheless, the woman did not lose faith in her strength, continued training and won many awards.
Currently, the athlete is preparing for the final race of the 100 m.
