Murder of a musician in the capital to seize his apartments — the organizer and performers will stand trial
To hide the crime, the victim's body was taken to a garage cooperative and planned to pour concrete. At the moment, investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police have completed the pre-trial investigation and sent the indictment to the court. For the committed acts, the defendants may face up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.
The agents of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in the Kiev region and the capital head together with the investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police exposed the attackers. In December last year, two men were detained with the support of the KORD special unit, who were reasonably suspected of committing premeditated murder.
According to the police, two accomplices killed a 65-year-old Kiev man who was engaged in music in order to seize his two apartments, funds and other property. Under the pretext of learning to play musical instruments, they got to the apartment of a Kiev resident, where they inflicted bodily injuries and suffocated him. Having seized the documents for the apartment, the attackers tried to hide the corpse of a man in the Kiev region. To do this, the body of the murdered man was wrapped in film and other things and taken to one of the garage cooperatives, where they intended to pour the body into concrete.
Subsequently, the operatives detained a third accomplice - a 31-year-old resident of Kiev helped the men hide the body of the murdered. In addition, the Kiev resident stole expensive musical instruments from the apartment of the murdered man.
During the pre-trial investigation, the investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police collected enough evidence confirming the involvement of the defendants in the commission of a serious crime. In particular, during the fingerprinting examination, fingerprints of one of the attackers were found, another examination revealed the DNA of the victim on the guitar, which was seized by the police during a search of the residence of a 31-year-old Kiev resident.
At the moment, the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings has been completed, the indictment against three persons has been sent to court. They incriminate the commission of criminal offenses provided for by several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine with a qualifying feature - as part of an organized criminal group: - intentional murder committed for selfish motives according to a previous conspiracy by a group of persons (parts 2, 3, 5 of Article 27, paragraph 6, paragraph 12 part 2 of article 115);
- theft (part 3, 5 of article 185); - fraud (part 4 of article 190);
- theft, appropriation, extortion of documents, stamps, seals, possession of them (part 3 of article 28, part 1, 3 of article.
357).
For the committed acts, the defendants may face up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.
