Important information for citizens planning trips to Slovakia and Moldova
According to an official message received from the Bureau of Border Police and the Police for Foreign Affairs of the Presidium of the Police Corps of the Slovak Republic, from July 21, restrictions on the entry of Ukrainian citizens into the territory of Slovakia were lifted.
Citizens of Ukraine can enter the territory of the Slovak Republic under the general conditions that were in force before the introduction of quarantine restrictions. Also, citizens of Ukraine must comply with the requirements defined by the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic (complete a full course of vaccination or self-isolation).
In addition, according to the General Inspectorate of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, on the territory of Moldova, from July 19, 2021, measures to prevent and counteract the spread of COVID-19 when citizens cross the border to enter the country are intensified.
A list of countries with a high or low epidemiological risk of spreading COVID-19 will be established on the territory of Moldova. The list of countries classified as “red” or “green” zones will be updated weekly (on Friday) and come into effect from Monday of next week. The list will be published on the official web pages of the Moldovan state bodies.
Citizens who will arrive in Moldova from the “green” zone countries in which they have been in the last 14 days (including those who crossed the “red” zone countries in transit within a period not exceeding 24 hours) must have a negative PCR test result for COVID-19, taken no more than 72 hours before crossing the border.
Those citizens who will arrive in Moldova from the countries of the “green” zone without a negative PCR test result for COVID-19 are required to undergo 14-day self-isolation.
At the same time, a negative PCR test for COVID-19 is not required, as well as 14-day self-isolation when entering Moldova from the countries of the “green” zone for citizens who have undergone a full course of vaccination, after which at least 14 days have passed (or have a document on the presence of antibodies to COVID-19, valid for 90 days), children under 6 years old, citizens in transit through the territory of Moldova (provided that the transit does not exceed 24 hours) and other specified categories.
Citizens who will arrive in Moldova from the countries of the “red” zone are obliged to undergo mandatory 14-day self-isolation. Exceptions, in particular, are citizens who have completed a full course of vaccination after which at least 14 days have passed (or have a document on the presence of antibodies to COVID-19, which is valid for 90 days), children under 6 years old, citizens in transit through the territory of Moldova (provided that the transit does not exceed 24 hours), as well as children aged from 6 to 18 years old, upon presentation of a negative PCR test result for COVID-19, taken no more than 72 hours before crossing the border.
Individuals who will be in self-isolation in Moldova will be able to complete it after the 7th day in case of passing a PCR test for COVID-19, the result of which will be negative.
Also, border guards of the Republic of Moldova draw attention to the fact that certificates of a negative PCR test result, passing a course of vaccination or the presence of antibodies to COVID-19 should be in Romanian, English, French, German, Italian or Russian.
When planning trips to the Slovak Republic and the Republic of Moldova with all the rules that apply when crossing the border, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the official resources of the state bodies of these countries.
