Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs held celebrations on the occasion of Knowledge Day
The Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs held solemn events dedicated to the Day of Knowledge. The management of the university, guests of honor, representatives of the scientific and pedagogical staff, parents and relatives of cadets and students of the university gathered on the big square to congratulate the youth on the beginning of the new academic year.
After the unveiling of the Flag of the University, those present celebrated with a moment of silence the patriotism, courage, loyalty and heroism of those who gave their lives for the unity and independence of Ukraine.
The rector of the university addressed the corresponding member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Third Rank Police General Valery Sokurenko. He congratulated those present on the Day of Knowledge and the beginning of the new school year:
“Today, Ukraine celebrates a holiday that unites a large community of former, modern and future education seekers and educators. It is also a family holiday, because educated, talented and innovative young people are the pride of any family. The task of the teams of our educational institutions is to train graduates to be effective and proactive, using for this purpose modern achievements of science and technology, attracting the best foreign experience. I believe that the abilities of our teachers, their perseverance and professionalism will be the key to the formation of the future elite of law enforcement officers of our country.”
Addressing the freshmen, Valery Sokurenko noted: “We are proud of our graduates, who today work in the Office of the President, the National Police, the Prosecutor General's Office of the State, head of the regional state administrations, the Main Departments of the National Police in the regions, etc. I want to achieve my goal in life. I am sure that everything will work out for you! Serve and work so that men respect you and the Lord God protect you.”
During the celebrations on the occasion of the Knowledge Day, the awarding of university employees took place.
For exemplary performance of official duties, personal initiative and dedication, the senior lecturer of the Department of Fire Training of the Faculty No. 3 of Police Captain Igor Lutsenko was awarded with the insignia “For Distinction in Service” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Honored by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine — Honorary Diploma — Associate Professor of the Department of Information Technologies and Cybersecurity of Faculty No. 4 of Police Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Manzhai.
The thanks of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine were received by the leading specialist of the service organization department, Captain of Police Alexei Nesterenko, and the cadet of the Faculty No. 2 of the Ordinary Police Serhiy Cherkasky.
For many years of conscientious work and high professionalism, the Diploma of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was awarded to: Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Serhiy Husarov; Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine Oleksiy Litvinov; Head of the Department of Administrative Law and Process of Faculty No. 1, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine Olena Salmanov.
The awards were presented by the Rector of the University, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Valery Sokurenko.
Solemn events at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs traditionally ended with a solemn march of the university units — the flag carrier group, the Honor Guard, the drummers unit, the university faculties, including 700 first-year cadets. Among them are school graduates who graduated with a gold and silver medal, graduates of law enforcement and military lyceums, winners of scientific olympiads, athletes.
