In Alexandria, cadets of the National Academy of NGU carried out a landing
The cadets of the command and staff faculty of the special purpose group of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine had a practical landing.
The landing was carried out at the airfield of the Guard Air Base of the National Guard of Ukraine, in the city of Alexandria.
25 cadets took part in the jumps. Guards landed from a height of 600 meters, while the speed of the MI-8 aircraft was 120 kilometers per hour.
Before jumping, cadets are instructed. Explain how to behave before jumping in an airplane and what to do during a parachute flight: how to separate from the Mi-8 helicopter; control the parachute dome in the air, act on stilts, land; act when the main parachute fails.
“I don't know how exactly you can convey the feeling of heaven, but you definitely need to try at least once in your life to make a parachute jump. It is a feeling of complete freedom when there is only you and your parachute. In addition, you are left alone with your thoughts, which at this moment are filled only with purity. While your attention is completely focused on landing, and the ground from a bird's eye view, believe me — is extraordinary,” Cadet Roman Melnyk shared his unforgettable impressions.
Cadets perform parachute jumps for the second time and there are those who performed the exercise for the first time. During the landing, they were given special attention.
“Every special agent must be able to land in different conditions and on any surface. The cadets showed a high level of preparation for parachute jumping. I was struck by the fact that they were not confused, but on the contrary, they behaved very confidently in the air. Overcoming the psychological barrier is one of the most important components of successful landing,” said the senior lecturer - head of the Parachute and Landing Service of the Academy Colonel Volodymyr Khalep.
Instructors note that each of the parachutists has dozens of jumps from different heights in a variety of ways, but the approach to each landing should be special, as if it were the first time in their lives.
