The memory of the courage and courage of law enforcement officers, who gave their most valuable and precious life for the sake of saving other people, should always live in our hearts. That is why the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs organized a photo exhibition in memory of the district police officer of the Primorsky Police Department in the city

“People live as long as they remember them. So we should more often mention such policemen as Sergey Prigarin. We educate future police officers who took the Oath to the Ukrainian People, and cadets should be proud to study at the faculty, which will bear the name of a real hero,” said the rector of the university Vyacheslav Abroskin.
The tragic event occurred on January 19, 2018 on Novoselsky Street. Wanted for hooliganism, an attacker in the middle of the street opened fire with an automatic firearm and wounded three police officers who arrived for a call to detain the offender. The most serious injuries, which turned out to be incompatible with life, were received by Sergey Prigarin. He devoted his entire life to the profession of police officer and until his last breath proudly carried the title of police officer.
Sergei's wife, Ksenia Prigarina, recalls that day with pain in her heart: “It was a bright feast of Epiphany and nothing foreshadowed trouble. Sergey was going on duty, and my daughter and I were going to the temple. The only thing that surprised me was his reluctance to go to work. Then I thought that he was just tired, but I must have felt something different, because I talked to him for the last time.”
“My daughter often mentions her father, asks difficult questions, but I try to answer honestly. Now that she is a little older, I tell her the truth, although every time I talk about it, I am allegedly stuck with a dozen knives,” adds Xenia.
“It was a worthy act of a true hero who is an example to us all. It teaches us to be bold and decisive. Sergey Prigarin will forever remain in our memory as a worthy and brave policeman who laid down his life for the sake of other people,” Volodymyr Kondratovich, a first-year cadet of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Preventive Activities Units, confidently noted.
