The International Scientific Conference “Maritime Safety of the Baltic-Black Sea Region: Challenges and Threats” has begun work at Odessa State University of Internal Affairs

Co-organizers of the event were: Institute of Legislation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Council of National Security and Defense of Ukraine, Odessa State University of Internal Affairs, Military Academy (m. Odessa), National Academy of Security Service of Ukraine, Odessa National Maritime University, National University of Water Management and Environmental Management, Institute of Criminal Law and Applied Criminology (m. Chisinau), Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities, Gdansk Academy of Physical Education and Sports named after Andrzej Sniadecki, Center for Ukrainian-European Scientific Cooperation.

The scientific event was opened by the Rector of ODUVS Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor Serhiy Kuznichenko, who noted that 238 participants from 54 higher education institutions of 5 countries of the Baltic-Black Sea region submitted materials to the conference.


The conference is held in accordance with the concept laid down by the Decree of the President of Ukraine of 03.12.2021 № 617/2021 “On some measures for the restoration and development of marine scientific research and research fleet”.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Bohdan Drapyaty addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, who noted that the international conference “Maritime Security of the Baltic-Black Sea Region: Challenges and Threats” on the basis of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs — which will soon turn 100 years old, and which Located near the Black Sea, it is a correct and symbolic initiative.

“I am deeply convinced that by joining the efforts of the international community, politicians, state-builders, local self-government bodies, scientists, civil servants, non-governmental public organizations, we will be able to effectively protect national interests, in particular in the sphere of maritime security of Ukraine,” the Deputy Minister added.
