In Odessa, police detained a man on suspicion of unlawful imprisonment and kidnapping of a 19-year-old girl
Eyewitnesses told the police that an unknown security officer put the girl in a car on Mikhail Hrushevsky street and drove away. In an hour, law enforcement officers located the offender's car and determined its route. And later they detained the attacker himself.
The incident occurred on the evening of September 22. It turned out that the illegal actions against the victim were committed by her ex-boyfriend. The 21-year-old New Year took the girl to the Kiev highway, where, using force, he demanded to restore relations. In case of refusal, the guy threatened to lock the victim in some remote settlement. The girl was successful in agreeing, and then the offender returned to Odessa and dropped her off on one of the streets of the city.
“The defendant is an Odessa resident who already has a criminal record for property crimes. Now he is in a detention center, he is charged with unlawful imprisonment and kidnapping of a person with causing him physical harm, which is provided for in Part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to the law, the suspect faces up to five years of restriction or imprisonment,” said the head of the investigative department of the police department №4 of the Odessa district police department №1 Yaroslav Klinch.
