In Odessa, police detained a man for violence against a law enforcement officer
The 22-year-old attacker climbed the fence of one of the police units on Shevchenko Avenue and, with shouts and threats, began to throw stones at the cars of law enforcement officers standing in the yard. When the police tried to stop the illegal actions of the man, he cut one of their hands with a knife and fled, barricading himself in an apartment that he rented nearby.
The police investigator-operational group and the soldiers of the special police battalion left at the specified address. With the consent of the owner of the apartment, the police tried to enter the premises, and then the suspect rushed to one of the special officers and hit him in the chest with a knife. Thanks to the protective equipment, the law enforcement officer was not injured.
To stop illegal actions, the police used a traumatic action device. The attacker was wounded in the chest, now he is being provided with the necessary medical care.
According to this fact, the investigators initiated criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 345 (Threat or violence against a law enforcement officer) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of entering information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations is also resolved under Part 1 of Article 296 (Hooliganism) of the same Code and detention of the defendant in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
