In Odessa, police officers exposed suspects in an armed robbery attack on a construction company engineer
20 and 29-year-old men were declared under Part 4 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They are detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The incident occurred in a parking lot near the victim's office in the Kiev district of the city, as soon as the man got out of his car. The attackers shot him, beat him, took a bag with cash in the amount of about nine hundred thousand hryvnias and fled in their vehicle. The 47-year-old victim with a head injury was immediately taken to the hospital and operated on.
From the scene, the police removed five bullet casings from the probably traumatic weapon and other material evidence of the crime. Within a few minutes in the garages on Fontana Road, law enforcement officers found an abandoned Ford Scorpio, on which the intruders were moving.
As it turned out later, they doused the vehicle with gasoline from the inside and set it on fire, but the fire was quickly extinguished, without causing significant damage. On the same day, the police identified the perpetrators of the crime and detained two of them.
According to the suspects, they planned the robbery attack when they learned that the victim had to bring the wages of the company's employees to the office. At the places of residence of offenders, employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the GUNP in the Odessa region and the criminal police sector and the investigative department of the Odessa district police department No. 1, with the strong support of the battalion of the operational police, conducted urgent searches, during which part of the stolen money was recovered.
The detainees are currently in a temporary detention center, where they are awaiting the choice of a precautionary measure. Measures are taken to establish the location and arrest of the third accomplice to the crime. For what has been committed, men face from eight to fifteen years in prison with confiscation of property.
